Criminal record, need visa to go on holiday to florida. Please advise...?

If a person has a criminal record, what are the chances of getting a visa from the uk for a us holiday? This person was in prison for 8 monhs after a car accident. Thank you

I have been told that the person probably won't get a visa from the US simply becaus they have a criminal record. Is this the case or does it depend on the actual reason for the prison sentence? I'm so worried!

Sorry to post this in Current events, but I really need advise.Criminal record, need visa to go on holiday to florida. Please advise...?
.I'm sure it depends on the offence, but why not phone the passport office they will advise youCriminal record, need visa to go on holiday to florida. Please advise...?
as far as i am aware having a criminal record barrs you from entry to the usa
Ask the US Embassy helpline - its on their website
The Us operate a Visa waiver system for British citizens meaning that you dont need a Visa.Even though your Passport would be checked as to its authenticity it is unlikely that your past records on a personal level would be shown. It is not advisable for you to rent a hire care however.Enjoy and dont worry.
apply but unlikly
Hi I'm a child protection officer and I deal with disclosures on a daily basis.

It is highly unlikely that this person will get a visa for the US. However if they contact the criminal records body and request an form for an enhanced disclosure and complete and return it they will receive a certificate listing any and all convictions.

However as I've said, being that the US have had problems of late it is unlikely that they will get a visa. But as they say if you don't ask you don't get.

Good Luck!
Try for the Visa and see what happens......
If you call into your local Post Office, they should advise you, or give the Passport Office a call.
