Rover 25 had new radiator fitted as it was heating up -now it has a burning smell can anyone advise?

Like previously stated it's most probably the production paint/film burning off which isn't any thing to worry about but please have it checked as the burning may come from somewhere else

As for the head gasket, if you are diagnosed with a blown head gasket then don't waste your time with a replacement head (拢500 fitted) as with the Rover K series engine it will more than likely blow again, just replace the entire engine for a reconditioned unit (拢700 all in including collection)

Hope this helps.Rover 25 had new radiator fitted as it was heating up -now it has a burning smell can anyone advise?
The head gasket is gone that's why Rover went bankrupt they are notorious for it .

Get a quote from a local garage for repair (expect near 拢1000!)

Then look into reconditioned engines , it's probable you can buy a reconditioned engine , have it fitted and guaranteed for 3 years for less money .

Good luck .Rover 25 had new radiator fitted as it was heating up -now it has a burning smell can anyone advise?
As everyone else has said, it's most probably just the paint or dust on the new radiator and will disappear quickly. For your peace of mind, though, pop back to where you had it fitted and get them to stick their head under the bonnet and sniff.
Probably just the paint or the new hoses. Don't panic just yet, but get it checked.
It might just be the paint. Check with the people who fitted it.
