On your way out of Calgary, stop at Billy Bs ski shop, Hwy 1 and Bowfort Trail, directly across from Canada Olympic Park. This is a new shop opened by a friend of mine. All new Elan rentals and demos, direct-to-lift tickets, great deals on accessories and consignment gear, and a good place to meet some local ski/board talent. Come on in for a cappuccino, say hi to Billy and Jimmy, and we'll give you the straight goods on conditions, weather, etc. Here's a link to the facebook page, see you in january!

Well, for cheap ski passes, look for clubs.
To elaborate, I live in CT and I'm part of the AE Ski Club / CT Ski Club. For about $30 a year for a membership, each member gets huge discounts (ex: normally $80 tickets to Stratton for about $40). The membership pays for itself in 1 visit! Look for local ski clubs in your state/county.
